Today we invited all staff to wear their jeans, or an item of denim, in support of Jeans for Genes Day in exchange for a £2 donation.
Jeans for Genes Day a fundraising campaign for Genetic Disorders UK, the national charity that supports individuals and families affected by a genetic disorder. Money raised on Jeans for Genes Day fund the work of the charity and provide grants to organisations for projects that aim to transform the lives 500,000 children in the UK with genetic disorders.
Jeans for Genes Day not only raises money for charity, it also brought all of our departments and showrooms together. Many of our sites had a coffee and cake morning in which staff had to pay £1 to take part. By getting everyone to wear jeans we helped fund projects that provide nursing care, equipment, activity weekends, online support and counselling.
This was our first year supporting the charity and we managed to raise £561.92, which is a fantastic achievement.
