If you’re eligible for the Motability Scheme with LSH Auto, you can enjoy maintenance and repairs as part of your hassle-free lease package. This means you don’t need to worry about the cost of keeping your car in safe working order.

Motability Servicing

Whether you’ve a city compact or a family-friendly SUV, Motability servicing will give you peace of mind and typically includes the following checks:

  • Engine oil
  • Windscreen washer fluid
  • Engine cooling system
  • Lights
  • Tyre tread
  • Tyre pressure – including the spare tyre

Each service is tailored according to the vehicle you own and manufacturer recommendations. If any of your vehicle adaptations need regular maintenance, we’ll notify you and all will be included in your lease. We’ll also stamp your car’s service book after each service to ensure an up-to-date record is always kept.

Additional repairs

If additional repairs are needed to those defined in your insurance agreement, extra charges might be incurred. You may choose to claim for this through RSA Motability insurance.

Motability MOT

MOTs are a legal requirement with new cars first needing a MOT after three years. We’ll contact you towards the end of your lease period to book your vehicle in for a test. If your car is on a standard three-year lease, it’ll need a MOT test certificate before you hand it back.

Additional information:

  • Two months of your original end date.
  • Vehicles in Northern Ireland don’t require MOT testing until they’re four years old.
  • Motability vehicles registered in the Isle of Man do not need MOT testing at all.

What happens if my vehicle fails its MOT?

Firstly, don’t worry. We’ll carry out any necessary repairs before retesting. Again, you may wish to claim for additional repairs through your RSA Motability insurance policy. But we can talk you through this if the situation arises.
