Mercedes have added a new 3.0 litre V6 engine to the X-Class pick-up range, and now the pricing and specs have been confirmed.
The German giant is building on the success of the X-Class and looking to add an extra dimension of appeal with a more performance focussed version of the pick-up. The V6 powered pick-up has been named the X 350 d and is now available to order. The latest addition to the X-Class family is on sale for £38,850 excluding VAT.
Mercedes-Benz X-Class Engines
Underneath the bonnet, Mercedes have fitted a 3.0 litre V6 unit that delivers an impressive 254bhp and 550Nm of torque, that’s 34bhp more than the Volkswagen Amarok, its nearest rival. The beefy engine is twinned with a seven-speed automatic gearbox and 4MATIC all-wheel-drive to deliver the full package.
Unsurprisingly with a V6 below the bonnet, the X 350 d can go from 0-62mph in 7.9 seconds, a remarkable time for a pick-up! It will also come equipped with Mercedes’ Dynamic Select drive which will allow the driver to select from five different settings for optimal driving conditions. These are: Comfort, Eco, Sport, Manual and Off-road. On top of this the X-Class gets a low-range reduction gear with three differing modes. There is a 4MAT setting which is ready-made for on-road driving while the 4H and 4L option are designed to provide improved traction in trickier off-road conditions.

The X 350 d will come available in a new trim level called ‘Power’. This trim will be one up from the Pure and Progressive trim lines seen on the smaller four cylinder versions. Standard equipment will see it get chrome trim, LED head and tail lights, keyless go, electric front seats and cruise control.
