The eSprinter joins Mercedes-Benz Vans' growing electric vans line-up and is a further demonstration of our commitment to leading the way when it comes to sustainable mobility. On a dedicated electric charge point, which you can have installed at work or home through a specialist provider, it will take about 8 hours. At a public charge point, using a DC rapid charger, you can get an 80% charge in 30 minutes. All Mercedes-Benz eVans come with a full package of business benefits including free 24/7 MobiloVan roadside assistance, 3-years unlimited mileage warranty, an 8-year or 160,000km battery guarantee and the latest integrated Mercedes PRO connect vehicle management software.

What are the advantages of electric vans?

Eco-friendly

Electric vans are generally considered to be better for the environment in terms of emissions, because they don’t produce any CO2 or NOX local emissions when the vehicle is being driven.

Cheaper to run

Electricity costs less than diesel fuel, making electric vans far cheaper to run per mile. Also, electric vans are exempt from congestion charges and with many major cities - including London - fast becoming low emission zones, this could add up to a considerable cost saving.

Fewer maintenance costs

Electric vans have fewer moving parts than traditional vehicles. They’re not as hard on their brakes due to regenerative braking, which uses the eSprinter's motor to convert the energy normally lost when decelerating, back into stored energy in the battery. Ultimately, this makes them cheaper and easier to maintain.

Smooth to drive

With automatic transmission and quiet engines, electric vans offer a different kind of driving experience with instant acceleration and no gearshifts, making it feel more effortless.

No compromise on load space

The batteries of Mercedes-Benz electric vans are stored in the underbody of the vehicle, so the load space remains the same as our diesel Sprinter van.

Grants, schemes and exemptions

The government is helping subsidise the transition to electric with financial benefits that help towards both the purchase price and operating costs.

• The OLEV grant gives businesses 20% off the purchase price** of an electric van (N1), up to a maximum of £8,000. There are also reduced tax bills for drivers, no company car tax for electric vehicles, exemption from Vehicle Excise Duty (VED) and increased rates for capital allowance claims.
• Small businesses (up to 50 employees) based or operating in Greater London can also benefit from £9,500 via TFL's scrappage scheme, which will not only scrap ULEZ noncompliant vehicles, but also contribute towards running costs (including insurance) of an electric vehicle. This scheme can be used in conjunction with the OLEV grant.
• Electric vans are also exempt from ULEZ charges, and the Government budget for local authorities has increased to £20m for this financial year under the On-Street Residential
• Chargepoint Scheme – funding up to an additional 3,600 charge points.

The eVito

The Mercedes-Benz eVito Panel Van – the first electric van in the mid-sized category – matches the total cost of ownership of its diesel equivalent. The underbody housing for the battery means the load area isn’t compromised, and with an average range of 93 miles^, it’s ready to make urban driving cleaner and more efficient. It's eligible for a government OLEV grant of 20% of the purchase price**, up to £8,000 maximum.

The Mercedes-Benz eSprinter Panel Van is an intelligently connected powerhouse, offering all the hard-working safety and practicality you’d expect from the UK’s class-leading large van with an average of 96 mile battery range^^ – ample for applications like last mile delivery and urban construction – and DC fast charging options. It's also eligible for a government OLEV grant of 20% of the purchase price**, up to £8,000 maximum.
