Mercedes-Benz of Stockport welcomed the community for its highly anticipated annual Christmas Market and Light Switch-On on Thursday 27th November, transforming the showroom into a bustling festive village filled with music, entertainment, artisan shopping, and seasonal magic.

This year’s celebration drew one of our biggest turnouts ever, marking a record year for this much-loved local tradition.

From the moment the doors opened at 4:30pm, guests were greeted by a selection of local artisan stalls, offering handmade crafts, original gifts, festive treats, and winter warmers. Many returning favourites were joined by new stallholders, making this year’s market one of the largest to date.

Families explored everything from hand-poured candles and bespoke jewellery to gourmet bakes, festive home décor, and creative stocking fillers, a wonderful opportunity to shop locally while supporting independent makers.

Live entertainment filled the showroom throughout the evening. A spectacular performance from a local dance group became one of the evening’s standout moments, wowing audiences with their high-energy choreography and daring lifts, and the Sale Brass Band returned again this year, delighting crowds with classic festive music.

Stockport County added excitement with a lively ‘Beat the Keeper’ challenge, offering visitors the chance to test their skills against club players and to pose for photos with the ever-popular mascot Vernon Bear.

Children enjoyed meeting Princess Elsa, taking part in games and festive activities, and visiting Santa’s Grotto, where Father Christmas welcomed families for photos and magical memories.

The evening combined community spirit, family fun, and festive cheer - a wonderful start to the Christmas season for everyone who attended. With record visitor numbers, more market stalls than ever before, and unforgettable entertainment, the 2025 Stockport Christmas Market proved to be an outstanding success.
