LSH Auto Raise Funds for Local Charities at Christmas Event

LSH Auto raised funds for The Christie and Stockport County Trust at its luxury Christmas event.

Mercedes-Benz of Stockport, the dealer group’s flagship showroom, was transformed into a winter wonderland from 4pm to 8pm on Thursday 21 November and special guests Former England Footballer, Steph Houghton, Stockport County player Isaac Olaofe (Tanto), and Stockport County's Vernon Bear performed the big Christmas Lights switch-on whoch took place at 6.30pm.

Charity fundraising

The Christie had a stall at the event selling a range of Christmas cards to support the enhanced services it provides. Gifts from the public make a huge difference to the care and treatment that The Christie provides to patients and their families over and above the NHS funding.

Stockport County had a stall raising money for its Kits by County campaign, which provides PE kits to Stockport’s primary school pupils in a bid to encourage the borough’s youngsters to be more active and engaged in PE. Stockport County’s mascot, Vernon Bear, was stationed upstairs in the BYD Fun Zone, challenging budding footballers to ‘Beat the Keeper’.

The BYD Fun Zone included racing simulators, a 360-camera booth, face painting, a meet and greet with Princess Elsa, and a magic mirror experience. LSH Auto stalls sold sweets, hot chocolate, tea, coffee, mulled wine and prosecco, with all proceeds going to the two charities.

There was also a raffle with some great prizes on offer including a Stockport County football shirt signed by every player and a variety of perfect Christmas gifts donated by the attending stallholders.

Local, artisan businesses

Alongside the full range of Mercedes-Benz, smart and BYD vehicles displayed in the showroom, local, artisan businesses showcased a range of perfect gifts from festive food, confectionary and Stockport Gin to handmade crafts, luxury fragrances – including Lauren Stone Collections, beauty products, winter fashion, pet accessories, jewellery and art.


Festive entertainment

In addition to the Christmas market, festive entertainment was laid on for visitors, with something for all the family and including an opportunity sing with Princess Elsa and meet Father Christmas and feed his reindeer.

Performances from local school choirs, dance companies, and bands include St Ambrose Prep School Choir and Steel Pot Band, Alderley Edge School for Girls Senior Choir, MCR Dance Academy and Sale Brass Band.

We’re delighted to be raising money for our local charity partners and supporting artisan businesses in the run up to Christmas. It was a truly magical evening that got us all into the festive spirit.”
