LSH Auto has welcomed 17 new apprentices to join its teams in Stockport, Whitefield, Macclesfield, Birmingham, Solihull and Tamworth.
The latest intake, known as the ‘class of 2025’, will be training in a wide range of roles, from Light Vehicle Technicians and Retail Parts Advisors to Customer Service Experts. Programmes range from three years to 18 months and combine hands-on experience with structured training.
For many of the new recruits, joining LSH Auto marks the beginning of an exciting career straight from school or college.
Callum Rushton, Parts Apprentice at Mercedes-Benz of Stockport explained: “The opportunity to work with such a prestigious brand and company really stood out to me. Mercedes-Benz is a business to look up to. I came straight from school and to be able to start my career here is incredible.”
Seb Cornock, Parts Apprentice at Mercedes-Benz of Tamworth, added: “When I realised what a prestigious company Mercedes-Benz was, I knew I had to believe in myself and apply. It has opened up so many pathways for me already, and with the skills I gain, I know I can build a career with them.”
Zoe Wooding, Technician Apprentice at Mercedes-Benz of Stockport, said: “If you want to be the best, you have to work for the best! I came straight from school, and my careers advisor recommended the Mercedes-Benz apprenticeship with LSH Auto to me – it was the best decision I’ve made.”
Many of the apprenticeships are run in partnership with the Mercedes-Benz Academy in Milton Keynes, a state-of-the-art facility where training is provided by experienced coaches and mentors for all Mercedes-Benz apprentices in the UK retail network.
Each year, more than 10,000 people apply for Mercedes-Benz apprenticeships across the UK, with only 250 places awarded. This year, LSH Auto is supporting 18 of those opportunities.
Becky Pitt, Talent Acquisition Specialist at LSH Auto, said: “Apprenticeships are such a valuable way for young people to get their foot on the career ladder. Our apprentices learn while they earn, gain a recognised qualification, and develop skills that will set them up for the future. We currently offer ten courses with NVQ Level 3 qualifications and are continuing to recruit for a variety of apprenticeship positions across our dealerships in Stockport, Macclesfield, Whitefield, Birmingham, Solihull, and Tamworth.”
With this latest group, LSH Auto now employs 65 apprentices working across its six Mercedes-Benz dealerships, helping to shape the next generation of automotive talent.
Katherine McLoughlin, Head of Aftersales at LSH Auto, said: "Welcoming our apprentices is always an exciting moment for us as a business. Investing in their training and development is vital, not only for their future but for the future of our industry. It’s fantastic to see how their skills and confidence grow over the years."
